ASIN lookup and product analyzer

An ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is the 10-character code Amazon gives every product. It appears after /dp/ in the product URL and in the "Product information" section. For books the ASIN equals the ISBN-10.

Yes. Enter a 12-digit UPC or 13-digit EAN; the tool validates the check digit, then finds the matching product in the marketplace you picked. If a barcode matches several listings, the first match is shown.

The tool uses Amazon's "X+ bought in past month" badge first. It is a rounded lower bound (e.g. 100+). Without a badge it counts sales-rank drops over 30 days; each drop means at least one sale. Both can understate real sales.

amazon.com buy price (optionally with sales tax), forwarder fee, shipping from the forwarder to the buyer (base fee plus per-pound rate), Amazon referral fee and digital services fee, VAT included in the sale price, duty and a returns reserve. Defaults come from real order averages of the stores we operate; you can override every field.

Each lookup pulls live data and has a cost. The limit keeps the tool free for everyone and stops automated scraping. Products someone looked up in the last 24 hours load from cache and don't count.

100 points in five parts: margin (35; full at 30%), demand (25; log of monthly sales, full at 1,000+), competition (20; rises as Amazon's Buy Box share falls and sales per seller rise), US source reliability (10; how often Amazon itself is in stock on amazon.com) and logistics (10; small and light is full marks, hazmat and heat sensitivity deduct). If a criterion has no data (e.g. margin when there is no price), it is not scored as zero; the score is scaled to 100 over the available criteria and marked “partial”.

The brand is matched against UK, Canada and Mexico restricted brand lists compiled from IP complaints received by the stores we operate, brand protection notices and seller community pools, updated hourly. Brands whose rights owner actually filed a complaint turn the page red. The tool also warns when an amazon.com seller ID has offers in the target marketplace too: that is usually the brand owner or an authorised distributor.
